History of "La Casa de Teresita"
"La Casa de Teresita" originally was the home of the prestigious surgeon Dr. Juan Gamarra Antezana and Maria Teresa Fajardo, both members from well-known and traditional families in La Paz.
The Building
Regarding the building, the original construction was built in 1916, however now a days only one block of this construction remains as the original. Several modifications were made through the years, for many reasons, giving the house the beauty and personality that today we can appreciate and enjoy
The Style of Decoration
The decoration of the house was in charge of Teresita, who within the years transmitted her personality and good taste in the decoration of each room of the house with ornaments (Her family's legacy) that we can appreciate in the house and reflect the upper middle-class society of La Paz city of those days.
The Gardens of the House
Three gardens enhance the beauty of the house; The entrance garden, the central garden and the third garden which was used as a small vegetable garden for family consumption. Today, the third garden maintains a space for vegetable crop.
The Objects and the History
All the objects that are preserved are part of the family history, and also remind us different moments of the life of La Paz city in the twentieth century, the "Chaco" war, the hyperinflation of the eighties, The feudal mining Bolivia, among others.
Family Life
The love for the music and literature is reflected in the two beautiful pianos that enhance the main hall of the house, and libraries that preserve a wide collection of books, in some cases with over hundred years old, in some cases.
Values and Faith
The Evangelical Christian Conviction of Teresita, is reflected in the collection of Bibles in different versions and languages that are available for guests, and also in Christian literature that can be found and that is also available, but we can find also a wide variety of literature for different interests.

The professional legacy of the husband Dr. Juan Gamarra is exhibited on the cowork room.
The Toys of the House
On the Cowork room we can find the collection of toys that gave joy to the house in the old times.
All the aspects mentioned before, gave to the house the strong personality that its owners unknowingly imprented on it; Don Juan and Teresita, to whom is dedicated at the end the Hotel Boutique Museo “La Casa de Teresita” in tribute to their lives and memory for their future generations.
